Elite New England Girls to Play in Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic Underclassmen Tournament
Baltimore, Md. – Corrigan Sports Enterprises and Under Armour, Inc. announced today the roster of the New England girls who will represent their region at the 2011 Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic Underclassmen Tournament. The sport’s most prestigious underclassmen tournament will feature girls and boys teams from Baltimore, Long Island, Midwest, New England, New Jersey, Philadelphia, South, Upstate New York, Washington, D.C., and West.
The event will take place July 1st – 3rd at Johnny Unitas Stadium on the campus of Towson University in Towson, Md. Over the two days, the teams will battle in a 10-team pool play tournament. The weekend is capped off on Sunday at 3:30 pm when the champions of the Underclass Tournament will be crowned.
This year the tournament has expanded to the West and South regions for the first time. For the past two years both the Long Island Boys and Baltimore girls captured their respective tournament crowns. The Under Armour Underclassmen Tournament is part of the Under Armour All-America games that feature 88 of the very best 2011 senior class boys and girls from around the country — squaring off against each other in a North vs. South format.
Head Coach Scott Biron said, “I’m excited to coach this great group of players from the New England region. This team has a strong blend of both lacrosse skills and athleticism which is needed to play in this high level tournament. These players are all competitors and the coaching staff is looking forward to working to get them to play as a team and have lots of success at the games.
